Carl Edwards (No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Sport Clips Toyota Camry) won the delayed then rain-shortened AAA Texas 500 Sunday night at Texas Motor Speedway, clinching a shot at his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20th. Edwards moved into the lead in the 258th of 293 laps (the original race distance was 334-laps). He benefited from a superb final pit stop and led 36 laps for his third Sprint Cup victory of the season. It was the 28th win of Edwards' career and his fourth on the 1.5-mile Fort Worth track. Joey Logano (No. 22 Team Penske AAA Ford Fusion) finished second and Martin Truex Jr. (No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Toyota Camry) came in third. Edwards joins Jimmie Johnson, who won at Martinsville last weekend, as the only other driver among the eight remaining Chase hopefuls who has clinched a title shot. The race in Phoenix next weekend will determine the final two drivers.

Editor-In-Chief's Note: Audi pays tribute to its illustrious winning history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans - the German automaker is retiring its LMP1 effort at the end of this season - with a new spot by BBH London that shows Audi sport models departing from all over Europe and converging at the famous Circuit de la Sarthe. The accompanying soundtrack is a new rendition of the Simon & Garfunkel classic song "Homeward Bound" by Gina Kushka. It's worth a look. -PMD

The 2016/17 FIA Formula E Championship makes the second stop on its schedule in Marrakesh on November 12th. Robin Frijns (No. 27 Andretti Autosport MS Amlin ATEC-002) will drive one of two Andretti Autosport machines and BMW works driver António Félix da Costa (No. 28 Andretti Autosport MS Amlin ATEC-002) will drive the other in the Marrakesh ePrix. It will mark the team's second race in its technical partnership with BMW. The Moroccan event, with its backdrop provided by historic buildings and the magnificent Atlas Mountains, uses the exact same layout that was used by the FIA WTCC this year. The semi-permanent track was designed by Hermann Tilke, and is the first of its kind ever used by FIA Formula E. Faster in character than many of the tracks on the calendar, it has three fast straights and one long, fast, right-handed bend just after the tight first turn. It is also the series’ longest circuit, at 2.97 km.
